GCER Meeting Minutes 4-15-08 @ Bakers Square, Auburn
The meeting was called to order by Potato Richardson.
We had one guest present , Gail Maduri, from Georgetown, and 19 members.
The minutes were read by Judy Carnazzo and approved.
Dianne Dalton gave the treasures report. We have $ 4421.93 in our bank account at U.S. Bank.
A payment was made as a deposit on the belt buckle awards for our ride. Dianne asked the members for permission
to remove the past officers names from our account. They are: Karin Occhialini, Allison Spackman and Jon Saunders.
Cherryl Holbrook will remain on the account as she is our Ride manager. Dianne also asked that we add the two
new officers names, and they are: Dianne Dalton and Judy Carnazzo. A motion was made by Jon Saunders to do so,
and seconded by Jim Holbrook.
Old business:
1. Cherryl Holbrook gave a report about Stewart Ranch at Pt. Reyes.
a. There were a lot of applicants, however The Concessionaires will remain the same.
b. Parks intends to put up a fence 50 feet from the creek but have no plans to do so at this time.
c. The tie rails will remain the same.
d. Itis requested that we pile up our manure by the road.
e. The fee has increased to $17.50 per person per night
2. Gold Country Endurance Ride Update by Cherryl Holbrook
We are in the preliminary planning stages.
a. An email was sent out by Cherryl to all members asking for volunteers and we are awaiting responses.
b. The airport Vet check will be manned by Jon and Carol Saunders.
c. Stuart Porter suggested we contact the CCC crew for volunteers. They are eager and willing to help, and will
be assisting with the Dru Barner Memorial Fun Ride put on by EDETF, May 25, 2008.
d. Jon Saunders will get the permit from GDPUD for water.
e. Bob Morgan will again be our head vet, assisted by Langdon, Gary Magnesium, and Sara McCartney.
f. Cindy Larkin gave a report on the awards for our ride. She will be calling for donations for the buckles
which cost $90 each. She also asked for suggestions or new ideas for the completion awards.
3. Insurance. There was another discussion held regarding the pros and cons of getting insurance for club
activities. Various ideas were offered. Jim Holbrook suggested getting a qualified insurance agent to attend our
next meeting and make a presentation. Potato will take care of that.
4. Folsom Lake General Plan: There will be a very important meeting held at Lakeview School in El Dorado Hills
tomorrow night. Everyone was encouraged to attend. Diane Dalton will send out an urgent message to all our
members. It was also stated how important it is to send in letters to parks and our political representatives.
This general plan sets the precedent for the next 20 to 30 years. If we want to preserve our trails we must all
get involved.
Stuart Porter, Gary Mcfall and Logan Brown , AV person gave a wonderful power point presentation about their
horseback adventure along the Tahoe Rim Trail last summer. The photography was outstanding.

In addition , and not part of the minutes, I would like to encourage all members of GCER to attend our meetings.
They are very informative, fun, and keep everyone updated and aware of things that are going on in our equestrian
community. We have a large membership and need all of you to keep this a viable club. So hope to see you all
next month at Bakers Square on Tuesday, May 20. Guests are welcome. We also need your help and input for our
