Old business
1.GCER ride
A water permit is needed from GDPUD to pump water. Doyle will follow up on that issue.
We have a permit in place for vendors , photographer, and shoer, good for two more years.
A discussion was held regarding the ride. We need volunteers for every area , vet cks, timers, P/R people
and spotters, etc. so please respond, and help make our ride a success.
New business
1.A report was given on the Cache Creek Ride. It was a very hot day, and a difficult ride so the completion
rate was a little low at 64 %. Club member Jon Saunders finished. Karin and Alison optioned out after 25 very
hot miles. The good news was that everyone took good care of their horses. There were lame pulls, and rider
optipns but no metabolic issues.
2. A report was given on our club ride in Nevada at Washoe Lake . A good time was had by all. We had 13 riders
camping. Joe Larkin is a number one event co-ordinator, tending to campfires, BBQ, and Top crew at Virginia City.
Gene Myers from Dayton, Nevada was our tour guide. He explained everything from oxen shoes to the flora, fauna, scenic
views and history of the area. We even spotted a band of wild horses with the help of Charles V Gabri. It was a memorable trip.
The meeting was adjourned and our club vests were then passed out to members. The are blue with white letters
and our club logo. They look great.
Doyle will bring the rest of the vests to our next meeting which will be held at the “Larkin Ranch” on June 16th.
The directions will be on our web site. There will be a potluck at 6:00, and meeting at 7. Everyone please make an effort to be there
as it is our last meeting before our ride July 11. Remember we need volunteers !!!!
Respectfully submitted, Judy Carnazzo, Secretary
