GCER Meeting Minutes June 15, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 1907 by President Joe Larkin. The minutes were read
and approved with a motion made by Jim, and seconded by Jon. There were 15 members
present. Our meeting was held at Round Table Pizza on Elm St. in Auburn. All agreed to
have our future meetings there.

The treasurers report was given by Linda Smith. Our current club balance is 5,637.42.

Old Business:

1. Kristi Hartman tied for first at the NASTR ride.

2. EDETF Fund ride over Memorial weekend was a huge success. They had 110 riders and
served 170 dinners. They made about $5000 which all goes back into trails and Dru Barner park.

3. Gold Country riders who participated at Cooley Ranch did very well. It was a good ride with
heat training, beautiful country and great food. Becky Engeman won both days and also got
best condition.

4. Only one person showed interest so the Chiropractor presentation was not planned.

5. The GRD Equestrian group leaders meeting was canceled.

New Business:

1. The dates for our club rides are as follows:
Pt. Reyes………. 8/20----8/22
Euer Valley…..….9/3------9/6
Bort Meadows.....9/24----9/26
Pt. Reyes…..…..10/15--10/17

The meeting was then turned to discussion of our Gold Country Ride scheduled for July 10. Cindy
reported on the awards. The route is still being worked on. The ride and tie component will need to get
their own vet.

However our ride is in a crisis. Joe Larkin was notified today at 1730 that our permit thru US Forest
Service is going to cost the club $4,200.00. We do not have that money available, and cannot put on the ride.
As of March we did have our permit. This is a new decision made by the Forest Service. There was a huge
discussion regarding this problem . It was decided that Joe would contact Jerry Scribner and the AERC office
and meet with the forest service. The membership will be notified and kept up to date by Joe Larkin
regarding this problem and if we will have to cancel the ride.

The Larkins volunteered to have the August !0th meeting at their Ranch.

The meeting was adjourned by president Joe Larkin at 2020 with a motion by Jim and seconded by Jon.

Respectfully Submitted, Judy Carnazzo Secretary
