GCER Meeting Minutes June 17, 2008

The meeting was called to order by President Potato Richardson. We had one guest, Cory Bertoglio and 13 members present.

The minutes were presented and approved.

The treasurer report was given by Dianne Dalton. We have $3,314.50 in our bank account. We had a bill for $884.92 for completion awards and $ 222.50 for Buckles. Cindy asked for a donation for a Buckle award. If anyone is interested in making a donation please call Cindy Larkin.

Old Business:

1. Club Insurance is still pending. We remain covered for our ride under the umbrella of AERC for sanctioned rides.

2.Gold Country Ride: 1. Cherryl Holbrook, ride manager was unable to be present. However we still need volunteers for our ride . If you are able to help please call Cherryl.

3. Karin Occhialini reported on the new route for the ride. .

4. Cindy asked for suggestions for the horse excellence award. Various suggestions were made. Cindy will request a donation.

5. Echo Valley has donated 10 bales of alfalfa and 3 bags of bran for the vet stops. Each vet stop manager will pick up their own supplies from Echo Valley feed. Thank you Greg Kimler.

6. Randy, our ride secretary stated we have 10 entries for the 30 miles and 10 for the 50.

7. Carol Saunders made a request for homemade cookies for her vet stp at the airport. If anyone can oblige please call Carol

8. Cherryl has offered to mentor anyone interested in managing the ride next year . They could shadow her on ride day. Doyle Bailie is considering the position as ride manager. Potato volunteered if no one else will do it.

New Business:

1. Joe Larkin offered to have our July meeting at his house in Greenwood on July 16, It would include swimming and a potluck.

2. Pam Bailie is the sales manager for Bar F Equine Products and has donated a pair of splint boots for the fastest time award. To see more of the company products go to www.horseboots.com. They carry pads, boots, ice boots, magnetic therapy and other equine products.

3. Joe Larkin stated Jerry Scribner has asked our club for a $250 donation to sponsor the Lion’s ridge vet check for Tevis. Joe Larkin made a motion to do so and it was seconded by Karin Occhialini. The motion was approved by the members.

With no further business Allison moved we adjourn the meeting. It was seconded by Jon. The meeting was adjourned by Potato Richardson.
