IV. Open issues
a) Treasurer’s Report: Elysa Storm reported that the club has $7,270.76 in the bank. The pending bill for the website of ~$107 was paid. We revisited the conversation about Potato writing a letter to Mary about her stop payment and it was suggested he send that to Jeanine Esler also since she was the rider and they have not made good on the payment, but Potato thinks we will not collect on this. We wrote off one no-show as a bad debt for $15 that could not be collected reasonably.
b) Elysha proposed that we should cash all checks upon receipt. Dannan suggested talking to Pam Bailie first. Concern with refund checks.
c) Elysha Storm proposed new accounting software that allows us to accept electronic payments. “Wave Apps”. Free for most use, minimal charges for credit cards 2.9% and ACH around 1%. Bank is ok with it. Motion to accept by Dave, 2nd by Andrew, voted and the motion passed.
d) Potato stated that the ride in 2018 is set for July 7 th and per his conversation with Pam she felt “everything is falling into place”. Elysha proposed using the same mapping software that the Kristina Chesterman ride used called Avensa Maps. Motion to accept by Denise, Seconded by Dannan, voted and the motion passed.
e) Discussion about a fun ride get together at Dru Barner the 1 st weekend (Friday – Sunday) in November to promote the club hanging out more. The club will provide chicken and burgers (Andrew will shop). The members will potluck the remainder. Asking for a $5 donation for the club provided items. Please RSVP to the Facebook Event or Elysha. Camping fees at the site are campers’ responsibility. Raffle. Guests encouraged. We will post on the website, Facebook Event – Denise will ask Cynthia Buendia to make the event (Done as of 10/18/17), flyers, and email.

g) We need more people to attend next month’s meeting so we can vote on nominations and plan next year’s parties. The milestone is still closed.
V. Old business still open
a) Andrew Gerhard requested a donation of a 2018 ride entry for the Tevis Holiday party.
b) Discussion to coordinate a GCER fun get together with the Tevis Fun Ride in 2018. GCER could help volunteer at the Fun Ride while getting to campout at Foresthill and promote GCER membership. Mutually beneficial. Dave will
discuss with Lori Stewart.
VI. New business
a) Discussion about Larry Goss passing. Dannan said his services are scheduled for this weekend. The obituary online provides the follow information: A service celebrating Larry's life will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 1 p.m. at Sierra Grace Fellowship located at 1260 Wesley Lane in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the ALS Greater Sacramento Chapter (websac.alsa.org).
b) Discussed the passing of Todd Nelson and Marc Van Zuuk also.
c) The November meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 4th in the evening at the GCER campout at Dru Barner Park.
d) Marcie (Guest from Horses for Healing) said they had a golf tournament fundraising event last weekend with very little support from the horse community. She is looking for other ideas. Horses for Healing also has partnered with the Auburn Chipotle restaurant on Hwy 49 again to raise funds. Chipotle Fundraiser – Wed., November 8 th : “Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Horses For Healing. Come in to the Chipotle at 2845 Bell Road in Auburn on Wednesday, November 8th between 4:00pm and 8:00 pm. Bring in
